Neo Energy are searching for a Senior Project Manager who will be responsible for managing the end-to-end process of utility-scale solar projects, from initial planning and permitting through construction and final handover. This position involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing budgets and timelines, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and achieving project milestones within agreed constraints.
*The applicant must have previous large scale solar project management experience*
*This is a travelling role and will require extensive travel to solar sites around the USA.*
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed project reports, including progress updates, budget summaries, and risk assessments.
- Lead project planning, including feasibility studies, permitting processes, site assessments, and resource allocation.
- Develop project schedules, identify key milestones, and manage project timelines.
- Conduct due diligence on project sites, analyzing environmental, regulatory, and technical feasibility.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for regulatory, compliance, and operational needs.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and improve future project management practices.
Have experience in:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial efficiency and tracking costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Oversee financial reporting, including monitoring expenses against budgeted amounts.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, financial analysts, legal, procurement, and construction teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication between team members and provide regular project updates to stakeholders and leadership.
Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, renewable energy, or a related field. A Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in project management, with a strong background in utility-scale solar or renewable energy projects.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership and team coordination abilities, excellent communication skills, and ability to manage client and stakeholder relationships.
